English Language Only

In the United States the only language spoken outside of homes should be English. I boarded a plane and got off in Florida when my daughter took me on a cruise. I thought I had landed in Spain. I asked questions as where to get my luggage and a bus to get to the ship. All I got was 'non comprende' and 'non speaka da henglish.'

Not knowing where to go I walked around and discovered the luggage carrier was an English-speaking person. Now that we have so many immigrants speaking foreign languages it is imperative that before they can become citizens they should learn English.

If we go to any other country we have to know their language. Just why should we have to have things in so many languages which is an extra cost? If they want to speak their language at home, alright, but out on the street why should we have various languages? If they don't want to learn English then they should return to their former homes.

Walk around and understand that people just don't seem to care that they should learn to speak English. So don't spend all that money to put various things in different languages to appease them. English is and should be the only language of the United States. My grandparents had to know English before they could become citizens. So, why not now?

Eminent Domain?

Eminent Domain is a 'lot of hogwash.' Why would anyone want to keep a place in good repair if some 'big shot' could come along and use Eminent Domain to take over the place? Let's go to Washington and use Eminent Domain on the homes of the Supreme Court Justices - see if they would approve of that. If those that want the homes would pay the price to get a new updated home, paid for in all plus moving costs and any new furniture that might be needed then people might not mind. However, they want to give their idea of a price which would cause the people to have to get another place and be in debt for years. Most of these people have lived in their homes for years and those homes are paid in full. Many are senior citizens living on limited incomes.

Sure, 'big shots who have political power' can wield a 'big stick' and, perhaps, with 'a little under the table gift' can get their way. That doesn't make it right. Fair is fair and why buy a house, pay taxes, pay insurance, pay for and keep up repairs when it might and could be taken away by Eminent Domain? Something to think of, politicians.

PS. Exercise eminent Domain on the Supreme Court building and put a Walmart in its place.

Gas Prices Too High

Well, drivers, blame yourselves. If there wasn't a high demand for gas then prices would come down. All of you with those SUVs, luxury vehicles make the gas companies know that they can raise prices and still sell the gas. Drive the nation's highways and no one seems to drive the speed limit on those highways. Seems just about everyone goes at least 10 to 20 or more miles above the limit. That, my friends, uses more gas.

We drive the speed limit on the highways and we get remarks, the 'finger', and the deep roar of a motor when they pass us. Funny, they don't seem to get places any faster but they do endanger themselves and others. Tell me just why everyone seems to want a car that just eats gas. Our car gets us where we want to be, doesn't use a lot of gas because we do not drive 'H--- bent for leather.' Try dropping your speed limits and you'll also see that you use less gas. Also, try making your kidlets try a little walking. Drive by the schools and see all the new high-powered cars, SUVs, etc., on the lots. Kids don't just drive to school, they drive around and show off. Drop the demand for gas and you'll drop the gas prices. If something doesn't sell then companies lower prices to sell the item. Companies are in business for profit and do not give things free just to make people like them. Something to think about.

Atheism is a Religion

Tell me just what have the 'atheists' got against religion? Whether they realize it or not they are in a religion but they just don't believe in God. Why? Every good and successful business has a boss, someone in charge. The same goes for the world. The one in charge of the world you could call the boss - Allah, Mohammed, even, if you wish, Salt, Pepper, Sugar, Big Shot, whatever - but I call the boss of the world... GOD.

"In God we trust." The atheists should mind their religion and leave other people's religion alone. The Ten Commandments are just 'ten rules of law.' The bible is not a 'hate book' but just tells things that have happened and predicts things that might or will happen. Money is just a piece of transfer for items received. So why should the atheists care about any of those? Since they don't believe why does it bother them what others believe?

Maybe it is because they don't like it that others are happy in their belief of God. Having a belief in God and life after death is what keeps some people obeying laws and being good on Earth.

By the way, I have been around some 'atheists' who passed on to the 'great sleep' and before they went to the 'great sleep' they asked to have a priest - so much for their belief.

Divide and Conquer

Folks, get behind and give 100% support to our President G. W. Bush. Do you realize that the saying "divide and conquer" could become true in the United States. That is exactly what terrorists are trying to do.

What some of you don't realize that by the way you seem to be against G. W. Bush you are doing exactly what they want. If there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq before the war, then tell me just exactly what was being taken out of the country to various other countries.

Too much time passed so that they were able to get rid of the contraband. So by the time the area was checked, there was nothing there. Male terrorists have been raised to believe that when they become live bombs they will get many virgins as their reward. Tell me just what the female terrorists have been promised. If this was all so, just why don't the leaders such as Saddam Hussein or Bin Laden themselves become live bombs?

Peace in this world is a must, otherwise the United States will never be safe. As long as the terrorists can do their thing, we will be sitting on a time bomb. So back G. W. Bush 100% all the way.

Giving Thanks (Lest we Forget)

The following from my son:

* Let us all rise, those of us who are able, during a time when life is a little bit unstable. Lest we forget, those who have served. The utmost respect--do they all deserve. During World War One, we were all strong. From World War Two, freedom followed along. We fought in Korea, our flag proudly flew high. We brought freedom to those folks, yet no one questioned why. Vietnam was a twist, with our draft dodgin' boys, but still we brought those people, a touch of freedom joys.

Our military has fought and died from the beginning. A death of honor. A life fought to bring freedom and peace to the folks here and abroad. In Iraq because of oil, I think not. Remember folks, Saddam 'The Dictator' killing the Kurds, his own people with chemical weapons. Oh, that's right, no weapons of mass destruction were found. Ha! And lest we forget veterans are offered a hand (not a hand out) when they are down and out.

I guess it is true, that people today don't give a damn about honoring our surviving veterans and those who have passed from prior wars. And thus they don't really give a damn about what our freedom cost. I can't understand people who don't have the ability to back the war effort, by supporting our president in his fight for freedom across the globe. Lest we forget September 11? The troops that are dieing, are dieing in part because of all the crap of the U.S. not supporting as a whole what they are doing in Iraq.

Hey folks! If you believe in what the troops are doing, then we on the home front should do the same and show our support. *Remember: United we stand, divided we fall. A fight for freedom, for us all.*

And what about weapons of mass destruction not being found? I seem to recall satellite photos of truckload after truckload being driven out of Iraq before the invasion. You remember, when the U.N. was dragging its feet (hats off to the U.N.). Oh, that must have been truckloads of cotton candy and sodie pop. Yeah, that's a better story to tell.

Peace, and God bless us one and all.

Will The Arch Be Next?

Well folks, the breaking up of Busch Stadium is in progress, which was built to stand up against just about any kind of disaster, not even a crack (except in the taxpayers pocket)-wonder what will be next?

Forty years old? Oops... could "The Arch" be next? How about the Old Cathedral, The Civil Courts Building, even City Hall? Who says that when a building is forty years old it should be put out of existance? Go over to Europe and see all of the beautiful old buildings that people all over the world travel to see and admire. Busch Stadium is (er) was a beautiful building that could have and would have been around indefinitely. Of course, the "Well-Oiled Wheels" in charge of the new stadium would not be getting tax dollars relief if Busch Stadium was kept in use. Wonder what it will cost for tickets? Will families be able to go out to games without costing them an arm and a leg? Wonder if the new stadium will hold up for forty years? Wonder what will happen if an accident on the highway lands over in the new stadium? I don't think anyone has thought of that possibility. Wonder what happens if the fans decide not to pay the prices for seats and parking and refreshments or even do not attend any games - or even watch them on television?

Abortion is Murder!

Young women can have an abortion without any consent from their parents? Wrong idea! If a daughter of mine would have had that done without my knowledge and she suffered some kind of consequences because of that, then whoever performed the abortion would need to pay for the medical bills and make sure she was well taken care of.

Well, when the government wants to tell one how to raise a child then the government should be responsibile for all the bills. Abortion is murder and also has consequences on the person it is performed on. No life? Wrong! Try this: put a butter bean in a glass and let it sit. Nothing happens. Then add water and the skin peels back and it starts to grow. That same thing happens in life. Until the sperm from the male meets the egg within the woman there is no life. When those two meet infant life begins and you have your baby starting to grow. When you abort that you commit murder. So think before you have sex as you two just might make it three.

Voting is a Must!

Voting in elections is a must for everyone regardless of their political agenda. Republican, Democrat, or whatever. Check out the person you are voting for.

Just voting a straight ticket is a lazy way and also a “cop-out.” When you vote someone into office, do a good check-out and vote for a person best suited for the job. Seems funny that some politicians go into office without much money but when they retire they are loaded. Guess they made some good investments! Right?

We need good, honest people leading us and that is a “hard nut to crack” because the “almighty dollar” is hard for some people to refuse.

Folks, if you don't vote you are 100% wrong as you allow someone into office or some law to be passed or not passed by not voting, as your vote just might be the deciding vote.

Regardless, be sure to vote as it is your birthright. Don't be lazy and lose that right.

G. W. is Right!

Just why are people against the war when if it wasn't taking place over there we just might be fighting it right here in the United States. Do any one of you think that we have some kind of immunity?

G. W. Bush is and has been doing the right thing. Those people were getting the worst kind of treatment. Talk about slavery when someone can rape, kill, and do whatever, that, my friends, is the worst kind of degradation.

Do you wish to experience it? Well, if peace and keeping people free is not given to others, then, it will spread to our shores. Do you wish to have a dictator enslaving you? Don't say it can't happen. It has happened to others so don't sit back and be smug.

Those people were killed wholesale and then all dumped in a huge holes by order of a dictator. That dictator also had weapons which he managed to get out of the country so they wouldn't be found. Had G. W. gone over right away those weapons would have been found, but G. W. did what he thought was right and asked others to come along, so now this dictator had time to get rid of the weapons.

Why don't you people realize our President G. W. Bush is a man with a conscience who backed our country. So get off his back and help him be the great president which history will say he was.
